In the vicinity of Lynx Lake in the Prescott National Forest of Arizona. The creeks and rivers around Lynx Lake provide legal gold prospecting. No mechanized equipment is permitted just hand panning tools. No permit is required for day use hand panning. Caution.. venturing too far north or south of Lynx Lake may place you on private property. Be sure (as with any outing) to consult a BLM map for up to date information.
From Highway 69 4 miles east of Prescott, turn south on the Walker Road (FS197). The Lynx Lake turn off is approximately 3 miles on the left (east).
