  Malakoff Diggins State Historical Park  is north out of Nevada City on Hi20, left on N. Bloomfield Grantville Rd. This is a must see for the history buff. You will find it at the site of the old mining town of North Bloomfield. North Bloomfield has been restored since the demise of the Malakoff Diggins and provides a clear look at the devastation that hydraulic mining inflicted on the environment.
