Mariposa California	Mariposa Travel Sights Near Yosemite National Park: *Downtown Mariposa* Check with the Chamber of Commerce for a tour guide map. Corner of 9th and Jones. (209)966-2456 *Yosemite National Park* This close to Yosemite, don't miss it!. North of Mariposa California on HI-49 is the 140 turnoff. go east past Groveland and then later past El Portal to the north entrance to Yosemite Valley. *California State Mining and Mineral Museum* Located at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds, 1.8 miles south of Mariposa on historic Highway 49. Turn left into fairgrounds.. *Hornitos- Bear Valley Loop* about four and a half miles north of Mariposa (in the town of Mt. Bullion) is the turn west. its a little bit bumpy and for a while its just gravel. Its about 12 miles till you turn north (right) onto Hornitos Rd. When you are finished looking through Hornitos (which is said to be the hangout of bandit Juaquin Marietta), continue northeast through town and back towards HI49. When you reach HI49, you will be in the nearly completely ghosted town of Bear Valley. (If you would like to return to Mariposa its only a few miles south of this intersection (turn right here).
