Haunted Colorado: The Stanley Hotel

The Stanley Hotel served well as the imagery in Stephen King’s “The Shining” as the success of the book and subsequent film could attest.

The Stanley Hotel is close to the Rocky Mountain National Park and has a long history of hauntings. It is known internationally as one of most haunted hotels in the United States.

Room 217 is where King stayed if you are a fan, but ghost hunters and thrill seekers will be happier in rooms 401 or 417 where Mr. Stanley and his wife’s ghosts are more likely to visit. You will find a mirror in the lobby.. take a picture of it and (as many claim) you may be surprised at what you seen when the print developes. Yup.. could be you've captured the image of a ghost!
