The Disneyland Resort and Theme Park can be divided into three seperate attraction areas. If you are staying at Hotels Near Disneyland that offer shuttle services, you will be entering from the east side of the complex. Downtown Disney is west of the main gate, centered between the two unique theme parks. The theme park to your right is the original Disneyland Theme Park, while the park on your left (south of Downtown Disney), is the newer California Adventure Theme Park which is a seperate theme park requiring it's own ticket purchase.

Added to the complex on February 8th 2001, the Disneyland California Adventure Theme Park has a more sophisticated and mature design than the original Disneyland Theme Park.

A three day "hopper pass" is a pretty good value as it allows you to come and go freely between the two parks at your leisure for three days. Downtown Disney is free to all visitor as there is no entrance fee. Best planning may result in a late October or early February vacation to avoid those nasty crowds. During peak season you may expect to wait an hour or more for each ride. While off season lines are typically 20 - 30 minutes for the longest of lines.
