Disneyland and California Adventure Theme Parks

This is an eighty foot high manufactured replica of the "real" Matterhorn. The ride is a quick paced rollercoaster whose cars are made to resemble bobsleds. The braking system for this ride is as simple as it gets, the cars pass through two small lakes which slow the cars down as they approach the platform. The bobsleds weave in and out of tunnels in the side of the mountain and built up pretty good speed. Not the ultimate thrill ride but a good start. Thrill factor might be a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Trivia... at one point there was a half court basketball hoop on the fifth level of the Matterhorn. Employees frequently would take there breaks here to shoot a few hoops.

If you look at the Matterhorn from the direction of Tommorrowland, you may be tall enough to see the abominal snowman in one of the caves. Look for the "blue cave" at dusk.

Peak season wait for Disneyland Theme Parks Matterhorn is usually about 40 minutes to an hour. Off season wait is about 20 minutes.
