state to be founded, financed and governed by African Americans.
The Campground is open all year
and has restrooms, dump station, picnic area and visitors center.
Amtrak's San Joaquin trains will
stop at Allensworth State Historical Park for your group travel
with advance reservations.

Directions:
The State Park is north of Bakersfield; 20 miles north of Wasco
on Highway 43; seven miles west of Earlimart on County Road J22.
(South from L.A.).
From I-5 take 99 North; 30-miles past Bakersfield look for the
DELANO exit -- but EXIT at CECIL AVENUE and keep going until road
dead-ends. From there, go right (on Highway 43)for about 6-miles
to PALMER AVENUE. Make left over the railroad tracks to Colonel
Allensworth State Park.
