Grover Hot Springs State Park
35 miles south of Lake Tahoe. CA State Highway 89 to Markleeville.
Turn west on County E-1 (Hot Springs Road).

Alpine County is one of the most scenic areas in the state as its name implies with snow covered peaks dense forests and high alpine meadows.

Alpine County lies along the crest of the central Sierra Nevada Mountain Range between Lake Tahoe to the north and Yosemite to the south. snow-covered peaks, high alpine meadows and beautiful forests are the main geographic features. Travel to Alpine County are found via state highways 88, 89, and 4.

The Alpine County forests are home to Lodgepole and Jeffrey Pine with enormous granite boulders deposited from glacial movement.
