Because the state of California has more than 100 miles of shoreline stretching from north to south, we find a severe contrast in climate and weather conditions. The equivelent shoreline length on the east coast could be found in a stretch of coastline that extended from New Jersey to Florida. There is rarely any mistaking the differences between the climate in New Jersey and that of Florida, therefore it is a good idea to consider a similiar variation all in the one state of California. Many visitors to California make the mistake of expecting sunny weather and hot arrid weather conditions. Although this is true for much of the state, we recommend viewing the average annual temperatures and precipitation for a given area in the early stages of your travel planning.
