Basin Redwoods State Park
Big Basin Redwoods State Park was acquired in 1902
and is the oldest State
Park in California. The park has creeks, trails, waterfalls and redwoods.

Moon Bay State Beach
Half Moon Bay State Beach has a total of two miles
of sandy shore. The park

Mt. Diablo State Park
a clear day, visitors can see 35 of California's 58 counties. With
binoculars, Yosemite's Half Dome is even visible from Mt. Diablo. Hiking
and rock climbing are available here. The mountain was regarded as
sacred to Native Americans.

Just north of the Golden Gate is Mount Tamalpais,
6,300 acres of
redwood groves and oak woodlands with a spectacular view from the
2,571-foot peak. On rare occasions, the Sierra Nevada's snow-covered
mountains can be seen 150 miles away.
