    Commercial Street/Antique Row  a couple dozen great little antique shops to delight the collector of most anything old. In old town historic district.

     Dutch Flat and Gold Run  are east on I80 about 30 miles. If you've got the time it would be a recommended stop. Many of the older buildings are still in use today.

    Gold Country Museum  on High St. (fairgrounds) presents Placer County mining history and an interesting gold display.

    Old Auburn Post Office  on Lincoln Way has continually operated since 1853. Narrowly escaping fire two years after it was built.

   Placer County Court House and  Museum  on Maple St. presents wonderfully restored offices of the Sheriff and clerks etc... Quite an impressive display overall.
